Final Reflection

Thank you for the feedback, the reflection was somewhat specific towards the Unity Project. The explanations could use a lot more detail as it was quite brief and could be more detailed. 

Thank you Abdul, the tech fair idea was a good one but it was unfortunate that we couldn't create it in time. I think that i need to add more detail to my reflections in addition to what you have mentioned. It was going quite well until the last few days before the date it was due in. If I was to do this again i would start earlier as to allow time for any failures.

Overall, this project was quite a difficult one to partake in as it required a lot of work to be completed in a shorter amount of time. Starting earlier would have helped

Process and Reflection

The process that we decided to take was going straight to into it and experimenting with the different game mechanics before looking through tutorials. The game itself was going to be quite simple and we didn't know what genre of the game we should make.

We then started looking up tutorials to try and experiment with more complex scripts pulled from the creation of an example project. After trying the scripts out we imported the character models to use along with the animation. It was going well so far...

The process of writing scripts took almost the entire weekend and finally we were ready to test out the game. That's where the problem began. The tutorials were made for a certain example project and referenced a lot of scripts that we weren't using and created a lot of compile errors when the game tried to run. The problems then became worse after we reset the entire world and tried to start again and the entire Unity stopped working and did not let us reinstall. Finally, we couldn't submit the creation as it wouldn't run and the game scripts couldn't compile. I feel that if we could have planned out our design better and started earlier we could have finished it in time or could have started again but we couldn't as there was only a day left.
If we were to do this again then we would start a lot earlier as to have enough time to restart if the game stops working or has glitches etc. Unity is quite a complex game design and professional games require months or even years to create. We didn't go for the Tech Fair due to our disorganised planning and the last-minute starting of the project.

Final Idea

For our final idea we decided to create a professional game using the Unity 3D software or Cryengine 3 depending on whether or not we have the minimum graphics card.

The Unity Software is a game creation software that can be used to create professional games. We have not yet decided upon the genre or the type of game but we will.

My first Tech idea is an printer built with with the nxt mind storm. It will print with one marker onto an A4 price of paper.
